ABOUT US:

Antony Griffith Harris is a seasoned London restaurateur with an illustrious three-decade career. In 1987, Harris unveiled his first venture, the Canal Brasserie on Kensal Road W10, which instantly became a sought-after hotspot in West London. This success laid the foundation for an exceptional twenty-year stint at the esteemed First Floor Restaurant in the stylish Notting Hill district, where both rustic European cuisine and captivating decor garnered widespread acclaim.

Fast forward to 2017, Antony and former Canal Brasserie Head Chef, Nicholas Anderson, reunited. This charmingly full-circle moment marked several decades since the duo first collaborated in the early stages of their respective careers back in the early 1990s.

Nick Anderson began his career as a rising star in the culinary world. Over the years, his success led him to establish his own restaurant, earning impressive culinary distinctions such as 3 AA Rosettes, a 6/10 Good Food Guide rating, and notably, two Michelin Stars.

Together, Antony and Nick have nurtured one of the Cotswolds' most favoured dining spots, uniting food enthusiasts from near and far.

OUR AIM:

Situated in the picturesque Cotswolds countryside, a highly sought-after Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Boxing Hare offers a truly captivating setting. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our rotating seasonal menus, ensuring a delightful culinary journey that caters to all palates. The natural ambience that surrounds The Boxing Hare complements the warm welcome extended to every guest, promising a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

We pride ourselves on utilising locally sourced suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients in our dishes. Paddock Farm, merely six miles away in Lower Brailes, is our go-to for rare breed Tamworth Pork, Beef, and Cotswolds Lamb. For our day boat caught fish from Cornwall, we work with New Wave Seafood, conveniently located in Fairfield. And what would a dish be without vegetables? For this integral part of each dish, we turn to Peter Durham, a local family greengrocer based in Oxford with a rich business history spanning over a century.

At The Boxing Hare, our highly skilled chefs bring meticulous planning and precision to every aspect of our diverse menu options. With a fine-tuned understanding of the nuances of cooking, our kitchen team possesses the expertise to captivate and delight even the most discerning food aficionados.

Beyond the tantalising aromas wafting from our kitchen, we take great pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience. Our knowledgeable and engaging front-of-house team ensures that your visit is not only a culinary delight but also enriched with attentive and enjoyable service that makes every moment memorable.
